Recipe for our BA Thesis Imperial Stout aged on Pappy Van Winkle soaked oak chips.

1:20+0.5 Gal H2O Added to pot making it 3.0Gal @ 140⁰F
1:45Grained pre-mixed in big trash bag
1:555Gal H2O @ 160⁰F / Poured into mash tun / Placed on stove (60mins)
2:40Oops. Brew is at 180⁰ in mash tun (30⁰ over) is that a problem?
2:45Mash tun taken off stove. Set aside to cool
2:50+0.7Gal H2O to mash tun. Cooling to 160⁰F
3:252nd pot filled with 3.0G water for sparging
3:30Mash tun stage complete / Drained, yields 2.5Gal pre-wort
4:154.8Gal H2O @ 180⁰ added to mash tun for sparge stage for 10 mins
4:25Sparge drained from mash tun and moved to bucket. 5Gal Total (2.5Gal + 2.5Gal)
4:50Wort set to boil. 5 Gal wort total
5:40Wort now boiling @ 200⁰F
5:502oz Nugget hop pellets added to wort (t+0)
6:201oz Willamette hop pellers added to wort (t+30m)
6:35Ground Coffee beans added with filter (2oz  Mocha Java  + 2oz Mexican Blonde Roast)
6:501oz Willamette hop pellers added to wort (t+60m)
7:05Wort moved to 5Gal Pot. Yields total 4.5Gal / Wort chiller copper piping connected
7:30Wort cooled to 80⁰F
7:45Syphoning  from wort to carboy (5Gal) for primary fermenation
7:50Pitching yeast (California Yeast WLP001) into glass carboy. Most spills on ground (25%)
7:55Second WLP001 vial poured into carboy (75%)
8:00Carboy sealed with airlock / Moved into storage for primary fermentation / 4.5 Gal total

8:15Mash tun cleaned and drained / preparation for mash stage
8:555Gal H2O mixed with grains in mash tun @ 140⁰F (60min)
8:560.5Gal H2O @ 180⁰F added to mash tun to keep temperature at 140⁰F
9:55Mash tun strage complete / drained into bucket. Yields 2.5Gal pre-wort
10:054.8Gal H2O @ 180⁰F added to mash tun for sparge state (10min)
10:20Sparge drained into bucket / yields 2.5Gal (+2.5Gal) pre-wort
10:25Mash tun cleaned. Set on stove for boil stage.
10:30Wort poured into mash tun pot and set on full boil (60min)
11:202oz Nugget hop pellets added to wort (t+0)
11:501oz Willamette hop pellets added to wort (t+30m)
12:05Ground Coffee beans added with filter (2oz  Mocha Java  + 2oz Mexican Blonde Roast)

1:15Carboy sealed with airlock / Moved into storage for primary fermentation / 4.5 Gal total
